Prosafe SE reported EBITDA of USD 14.8 million (USD 4.6 million) for the first quarter of 2026. All the company’s five vessels generated revenue in the quarter. Prosafe SE has officially announced its first-quarter results for 2026, reporting a robust EBITDA of USD 14.8 million, a significant increase from the USD 4.6 million recorded in the same period last year. All five vessels in the fleet contributed to revenue generation throughout the quarter. While the Safe Eurus and Safe Boreas remained on hire for the full duration, the Safe Zephyrus and Safe Notos have successfully commenced their mandatory five-year special periodic surveys to ensure continued operational readiness.

These special periodic surveys are critical for maintaining compliance with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Chapter I, Regulation 10, which mandates rigorous survey cycles for offshore units. Furthermore, adherence to Classification Society requirements—such as those set by DNV or ABS—is essential for the renewal of the Cargo Ship Safety Construction Certificate. For compliance departments, these inspections are vital to avoid port state control deficiencies and ensure that the vessel remains seaworthy under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.

These scheduled surveys directly impact the daily responsibilities of chief engineers and second engineers. During these dry-docking and survey periods, technical teams must prioritize the inspection of hull integrity, ballast tank coatings, and critical machinery systems. Chief engineers must ensure that all maintenance records are updated in the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) to satisfy class surveyors, ensuring that the vessel meets all safety standards before returning to active offshore operations.
