Yinson Productions secures $131m financing for Vietnam-bound FSO

Singapore-based Yinson Productions, in a strategic joint venture with PTSC, has successfully secured $131.5 million in senior secured bank financing for a new Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit. Destined for the Block B project offshore Vietnam, the vessel is currently undergoing final construction phases in Chinese shipyards. This significant capital injection ensures the project remains on schedule for its anticipated completion, marking a pivotal milestone for Yinson’s expanding footprint in the Southeast Asian offshore energy sector.

The deployment of this FSO unit necessitates strict adherence to international maritime safety and environmental standards. Compliance with SOLAS Chapter II-1 regarding construction and machinery, alongside MARPOL Annex I regulations for the prevention of oil pollution, remains mandatory for floating assets operating in Vietnamese waters.
